Belt printers
In belt printers, instead of a plate-table, there is a conveyor (belt). On such a printer, it is convenient to print parts in large quantities (the printed part, moving off the conveyor itself, comes off the surface and the printer can continue to print the next one). Also possible print very long (by Y-axis) parts.
IDEX printers
IDEX printers have two semi-independent extrusion systems (heads). This allows two parts to be printed at the same time. Also (more interesting) one part with two plastics to be printed at the same time!
5D FDM printers
These are printers with additional degrees of freedom of the “table” position. Adds significant printing capabilities without support.
